Joy  Creativity  Transcendence

through world-class chamber music

Welcome from our new Artistic Directors:

Dear Friends,

We are delighted to be Artistic Directors of Chamber Music Society of the Carolinas! We first came to the festival in 2009 to perform with our quartet, the Jasper String Quartet. Our family has grown, our musical lives have expanded and our desire to bring people together through great chamber music has only strengthened.

CMS Carolinas’ mission is to promote shared experiences of joy, creativity and transcendence through world-class chamber music, and these principles will guide our efforts moving forward. Our great musical inspiration springs from the ability to program beautiful, transportive and thrilling concerts. We can’t wait to bring the 2025 season to you in July!

We are grateful to Inessa Zaretsky, for her 10 years of inspired leadership as Artistic Director. We are also thankful for our partners. In 2025, we look forward to performing on the stages of the Fine Arts Center in Greenville, SC, the First United Methodist Church in Waynesville, NC, and Warren Wilson College in Asheville, NC and to continuing our collaboration with the Asheville Chamber Music Series.

Please mark your calendars for July and our 2025 details will be posted in the coming months

Sincerely,
Rachel Henderson Freivogel and J Freivogel

Join the Chamber Music Society of the Carolinas in 2025 for its 56th Season!

The Chamber Music Society of the Carolinas (CMS Carolinas) is a historic, world-class classical concert series set in the beautiful mountains of North and South Carolina. Each performance comprises a small group of talented, experienced artists, who provide context to the music through spoken introductions, before thrilling the audience with their performances.

Chamber music is a unique, intimate experience where each artist plays one to a part, and the collaboration of voices together leads to a vibrant conversation and a synergetic whole greater than the sum of its individual parts. The audience is able to experience this energy live, creating a magical and visceral experience.

Performers include Grammy-winning and Grammy-nominated ensembles, exceptional American string quartets, Van Cliburn and Tchaikovsky competition medalists and principals of major US orchestras.

CMS Carolinas presents 13 concerts in July in three intimate and welcoming venues: Asheville, NC, Waynesville, NC, and Greenville, SC. Tickets and information coming soon!
